Don’t miss Dark Woods Con on March 5 - 7 2010 at the Landmark Inn in Pikeville, Ky!

February 28th, 2010

Dark Woods Convention is a new and exciting Horror and Paranormal event being held in Pikeville, Ky. The idea of the convention was brought about by David “Goose” Goslin, a indy film maker of 148 Productions, winner of best motion picture under 30 minutes for “Killdo” at the World Independent Film Expo, and a police officer who lives in Hindman, Ky.

He picked Pikeville because nothing of this nature has ever been done there before. Knowing it will be a huge success, Goose spoke with three other indy film making companies who he has worked with in the past and knew they would be up for the challenge of bringing this convention to life.

Joining 148 Productions is JustUS League Films, LLC whose feature debut film “Mountain Mafia” featuring Tiffany Shepis, Al Snow, Tim Wilson, Amy Hayes, Mike Holman and introducing Casey Miracle will wrap later this year, Can Too Entertainment, producers on the thriller “Stash” featuring Debbie Rochon and Billy W. Blackwell that was featured on G4, and FilmDyne, LLC in production with JLF on “Mountain Mafia”.

For simply their love of the horror and paranormal, these four companies are joining forces to bring a premier event to everyone. Being held at the prestigious Landmark Inn in Pikeville Ky., Dark Woods Con will offer vendor tables of all varieties, a film festival and numerous stars and celebrities who will be there to meet and greet and sign autographs. Dark Woods Con will truly be the “Can’t Miss Event” of the year and an incredibly frightening experience. But heed the warning, “Don’t go in Alone!”

Guests at Dark Woods include Michael Berryman, Ari Lehman, Tiffany Shepis, Alex Del Monacco, Al Snow, Daniel Emery Taylor, Stacey Dixon, Kayla Perkins, Billy Blackwell, Billy Tackett, Jeff Mitchell, Leslie Rogers, Dave and Mary Conley, Dick Warlock, Joel Robinson, Jacob Ennis, The Villebillies, Bastards of Horror, Infernal Dreams, and many many more.

ZP International will be represented by George Bonilla, Todd Burrows, and David Sowder.

ZP International Begins Production on New Feature Film

December 22nd, 2009

Richmond, KY, December 21, 2009: ZP International Motion Pictures announced that they will begin shooting their new feature film, Santa Claus vs. The Zombies, in early January. Principal photography will continue through March of 2010.

The new feature promises to be a light-hearted family friendly film. The original screenplay by George Bonilla is based on a concept by Jet Rosas and Strange Holiday Comics. Bonilla is also slated to direct the feature.

“This is an ambitious project,” said Bonilla, “But, as we have proven in the past, our team has the talent and tenacity to tackle this film head-on. Story development and pre-production has gone well thus far and we are quickly moving towards full-production.”

This will be the eighth feature, but the first family/comedy film, for the Independent film company based in the greater Lexington, KY metro area. The company’s other projects include Hell-ephone, Monstrosity, Dance With a Vampire, Zombie Planet: The Kane Chronicles, and the award-winning feature The Edison Death Machine. In 2008, George Bonilla was named ‘Kentucky Filmmaker of the Year.’

“I’m really looking forward to getting back on the set,” added Bonilla, “We’ve been out on the road promoting Hell-ephone, and we’ve spent quite a bit of time in pre-production for Santa Claus vs. the Zombies, but making films is what we do best and I’m truly excited to get back in the director’s chair and bring this project to life.”

Producers on the project include Tammy Bonilla, Todd Burrows, Douglas Campbell, and Russell Coy.  The film is scheduled to be released during the 2010 Holiday season.

ZP Participates in “Who Arted?” to benefit The American Diabetes Assn.

December 2nd, 2009

Artist Billy Tackett and his wife, Heather, are sponsoring a charity event called Who ARTED? A TWISTED Art Sale & Exhibit.

For Who ARTED?, the Tacketts put out a call to artists and asked some of their friends to donate a piece for the auction. All artists were given an old 33 rpm LP to create their masterpiece with. Some have used it as a canvas, some have made sculptures and some have–er, well, you just have to see for yourself!

Who ARTED? will be held at the Leapin’ Lizard Gallery, 726 Main Street, Covington, Ky, on Dec. 5 at 7pm. There’s a $2 cover at the door. There will be snacks and a cash bar as well as non-alcoholic drinks. And here’s the important part: Proceeds will go to the American Diabetes Association.
Members of De Los Muertos will be beltin’ out some twisted Christmas carols and the Pickled Brothers will be doin’ some of their bug eatin’, fire breathin’, bed of nails layin’ entertainment for your enjoyment.
ZP International has donated a piece of artwork to the event. Designed by George and Tammy Bonilla, the piece is called ‘Face the Music’ and will be a part of the auction. This unique piece of art was molded off of Tammy’s face.

“We are very proud to be associated with this event,” said ZP CEO George Bonilla, “The American Diabetes Association does wonderful work that benefits millions of Americans, and Billy Tackett is not only a fantastic artist, but a very good friend and we are more than happy to help.”
